Symptom: I opened the dishwasher today, and a bunch of water spilled out of it! Â After cleaning up the spill and examining the dishwasher from the inside, I noticed that there was a very slow stream of water continuing to come in from the inlet port. This means that when the dishwasher is closed, the water builds up at the bottom, and will spill out the next time it’s opened.
Solution: This indicates that the inlet valve has failed in a slightly open position, and was continuously letting through a tiny stream of water. Getting a replacement valve was $12 on eBay, and installing it took half an hour.
